The City of New Fairview's website is designed and provided to make information easily accessible to the public. The City Council and City Administration want citizens to be well informed. From the comfort off their home, citizens have access to meeting agendas, minutes, ordinances, budgets, audits, the history of the City, and much more. Transparent government depends upon excellent communication between the public and City Officials. Continual improvement and updates to the City Website will assist in that endeavor.
New Fairview - County Road 4421 at US 81/287 to be closed on March 8th for approximately one month to construct Phase 2 of the Highway Safety Improvement Project. This project consists of realigning Northbound US 81/287 as well as the addition of deceleration and acceleration lanes at CR 4421.

The City of New Fairview is located in the quickly changing northwest portion of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex along U.S. Highway 287 and Farm to Market Road 407. New Fairview's location provides residents and businesses with a rural, small town atmosphere. The City also accommodates easy access to many major destinations, such as Alliance Airport, DFW Airport, Texas Motor Speedway, LBJ National Grasslands, various public lakes, and numerous business centers.
Neighboring towns include Aurora, Boyd, Decatur, Justin, Rhome, and Fort Worth. Most land in the southwest section of Wise County is included within the jurisdiction of a city due to boundary expansions and extensions. This is especially true of the City of Fort Worth's ever expanding borders.
New Fairview is striving to have organized and quality growth, while dealing with the issues and challenges of this quick growing and fast changing area of the DFW Metroplex. The City Council and the City Consultants are continually updating City Ordinances and procedures to deal with the conflicts and changes associated with this growth. This will ensure that visitors, citizens, and businesses can find the information and procedures they need concerning living and working in New Fairview.
Even though New Fairview is located in one of the fastest growing and changing areas in the United States, the approximately sixteen square miles that comprise the City are primarily farms and ranches with a few residential subdivisions scattered among the agricultural land. The farms and ranches in this area will be slow to develop into residential subdivisions and commercial properties. This slower growth provides those that live in New Fairview that great rural atmosphere.
The minimum lot size in the City of New Fairview is one home per acre in subdivisions. This assures more of a rural atmosphere than neighboring towns that allow up to six homes per acre. Larger lot sizes allow for less congestion and less need for the construction and maintenance of City Infrastructure. Fewer City streets are needed. Lot sizes accommodate septic systems and many even have their own private water wells. Therefore, the City does not have to construct and maintain costly City water and sewage systems.
New Fairview does NOT HAVE CITY PROPERTY TAXES. The City operates from City Sales Tax. Therefore, New Fairview strongly encourages and welcomes quality businesses to locate within the City. Quality businesses provide sales tax and jobs for our citizens.
